Worcester Civic Society members have devised a Heritage Trail around the perimeter of the city that can be followed by cycle or by car, paying due care to safety, of course.

If you have any comments on the Trail or on the milestones project, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact events@worcestercivicsociety.org.uk

Worcester Turnpike Trust

Working with The Milestone Society, Worcestershire Highways and Ringway UK Ltd,  a new milestone to commemorate the Worcester Turnpike Trust, sculpted by Debbie Branford the apprentice stonemason at Worcester Cathedral, is scheduled to be unveiled on Saturday, 20th May. The location is on Whittington Road, by the roundabout at the Oak Apple pub.

The stone also marks the Wild About Worcester Way (a Worcester Environment Group initiative) and the Civic Society’s Heritage Trail around the city. The project aims to raise awareness of the historical significance of such waymarkers, especially with young people.
